Moore is Less

I don't care to dwell on politics at all, but I am huge film geek. Sometimes, sadly, they crossover.

When Roger & Me came out, I, being a Flint, Michigan native (the film is centered on the harm General Motors apparently inflicted on my hometown), took great interest and very much enjoyed the film. Since then, Michael Moore has admitted publicly that much of that film, as well as Bowling for Columbine, was staged and fabricated.

Now we have Mr. Moore back on the silver screens on his crusade to rid the Earth of George W. Bush. With Moore's history of creative editing and choreographed events, I wasn't in any hurry to rush out and add to the top-grossing film this week.

Still, I was somewhat tempted to see what the whole fuss was about. But thanks to David Edelstein of Slate.com, I'll save my money and time.

I'll stick to true stories such as Spiderman 2.

Something Cool

People always say "you learn something new everyday." This is true, however, the somethings you learn aren't always that fascinating. For instance, today I learned that a freeway I need to drive to work on will be under construction next week. New, yet not good, and only interesting in a frustrating, annoying, road rage kinda way.

Well, the day wasn't totally lost. I also learned something pretty cool and relatively useful. If you type a domain name into the address bar of a browser and then hit CTRL + ENTER, it will fill out the "www." and the ".com" for you.

Then, to make this doubly informative, I also learned a few other shortcuts, which you can see here: MSIE Shortcuts.

It's good to learn.

One Fan, One Vote

There's a new game in town. The WHA is set to begin in the Fall of 2004 and the Detroit franchise needs a name.

Now, being a hockey historian, my natural choice of the five is the Detroit Cougars, which was the name of the Red Wings before they were the Red Wings.

So, vote for the right candidate here (Cougars).

Go Cougars!

Good Food Fast

I tried Qdoba the other day. It's set up much like Subway, except it's Mexican food and there is no Jared. Two big plusses!

I suggest you drop eveything and drive to the nearest one right now.

A Blast from the Past!

Longtime AOL users and dedicated followers of all things Vince will remember Follywood, my first Internet-based job which led to many years of service for the Motley Fool.

I've recreated a facsimile of the original Follywood front screen here: Follywood

Follywood was a ton of work, a lot of fun, and had a fervently dedicated following. Sadly, the passion for it was by the few and not the many and it closed shop after a few short years.

I miss it.

Cop Rock!

Set those VCRs! TRIO is airing the pilot of Steven Bochco's ill-fated musical cop drama, "Cop Rock." You owe it to yourself to watch this. A drug dealer kills a cop's partner, and a drug addicted mother loses her baby -- all set to music. I can't wait!
