144

Placido Polanco of the Detroit Tigers set a major league record for second baseman by playing his 144th straight game without an error in a 7-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Monday night.

Considering the number of plays a middle-infielder is involved in, as well as some of the screwy official scorers out there, this is truly a great accomplishment.

Looking forward to 145.
